Robert F. Culbertson (R.F.) is CEO of VentureBeginnings/GetABBY, a Pittsburgh based incubator and software company, and an adjunct faculty member at Carnegie-Mellon University, where he is a proponent of Experiential Entrepreneurship. In 1998, R.F. founded “The Apprentice” as a class at CMU; it later became the TV show. Previously, he was founder of LeaseTek, Inc., (now CFS Americas, Inc.), a Pittsburgh-based company that grew into the world’s largest supplier of fixed-asset based management and accounting software. Before that, he founded a transportation company that was sold to its employees and co-founded a publishing company that was sold to its largest advertiser. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering and an M.S.I.A from the Graduate School of Industrial Administration — all from CMU.

Come with your ideas, assemble a team, and spend the day competing to create the best piece(s) of media you can that, in two minutes or less, promotes the news business today and into the future. The Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association may use what you create and even hire you to develop it further. The PNA wants to inspire their members — and the entire community — to experience and promote newspapers and the news.
